How much does it cost to rent a stage at Dream Magic Studios?
Stages run $125 to $250 per hour, or $1,400 to $2,500 for a 12-hour day, depending on the room. The podcast room books as a 6-hour block from $600, and offices start at $50/hr. Every listing shows live pricing with fees itemized before you send a request. The Residency, our monthly package, is negotiated and quoted individually.
How fast do you confirm a booking?
A real person confirms availability and your final quote, usually within a few hours on business days. Nothing is charged until you approve the quote. Need it faster? Call (818) 280-5905.
How do deposits and payment work?
A 50% deposit locks your dates after we confirm, and the balance is due at load-in. We accept credit cards via Stripe, plus PayPal and Zelle. A card on file is required for every booking.
How do I pay my deposit or balance?
Card payments run on our secure payment page at /pay: enter the reference from your quote email, pick deposit or balance, and pay through Stripe. Receipts email automatically. For PayPal or Zelle, call (818) 280-5905 and we will set it up.
Do I need insurance to shoot here?
Yes. A $1,000,000 general liability certificate of insurance (COI) is required before load-in on all rentals. Short-term production policies cover most shoots for a modest fee, and we can point you to options if it is your first time.
What is included in every booking?
An on-site host runs your day, 30+ gated parking spots are inside the gate, and the salon and green room come free with photo and film rentals. The building doubles as a location library.
Do you provide cameras, lighting, or podcast equipment?
No, by design: every room is a blank canvas for your own setup. Bring the rig and crew you trust, build the space your way, and strike when you wrap. If you need lighting, grip, cameras, recording gear, or an audio engineer, ask when you request and we can arrange add-ons through our rental partners.
What is the cancellation policy?
Full refund within 24 hours of booking or 8+ days before your date. 50% refund 3 to 7 days out. Under 48 hours is non-refundable. Force majeure is always a full refund.
Can I book on a weekend?
Yes. Weekends book at the same rates as weekdays, and your host is on site like any other booking. The office is staffed Mon to Fri 10am to 5pm, so weekend requests confirm during business hours. Night hours between 12am and 6am bill time-and-a-half on any day.
How long is a shoot day?
A booked day is a 12-hour window. There is a 15-minute grace period after contracted load-out, then overtime bills at time-and-a-half for room and crew. Night hours between 12am and 6am bill at time-and-a-half automatically.
Can I book by the hour?
Yes. Stages, offices, and locations book hourly or by the 12-hour day. The podcast room books as a 6-hour block or a 12-hour day, bring your own rig. The Residency is monthly and quoted individually.
Can I scout the space before booking?
Yes, and we recommend it. Walkthroughs are free 30-minute visits, Monday to Friday between 11am and 4pm. Pick your time online on the walkthrough page, at least a day ahead, and a real person confirms it. Location scouts and producers welcome, tech specs are on every listing. Prefer the phone? Call (818) 280-5905.
Where is Dream Magic Studios located?
8911 Independence Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91304, in the West Valley near Warner Center and Pierce College, inside the 30-mile studio zone. Load-in is through the gated lot with 30+ parking spots.
Can I bring my own crew and gear?
Yes. Outside crews and gear are welcome. An in-house stage manager hosts stage bookings ($150 flat), and lighting, grip, and camera packages can be quoted if you want to travel light.
Do you offer monthly or recurring rentals?
Yes. The Residency is our monthly package: a private office suite or the music studio as your base, with shoot days on the stages built in. Every contract is negotiated and priced after a walkthrough. Recurring weekly room blocks can be written into a residency or quoted on their own.
Do you offer full production packages with crew?
Yes. Production days pair a stage with our production partner's crew, cameras, and lighting on one quote and one invoice. Music video days start at $4,200, brand and commercial days at $6,200, and show launch days at $5,200, each quoted to the size of your shoot. Crew and dates are confirmed within 48 hours. See the packages page for what each day includes.
Who is the crew on a production package?
Our production partner, a working crew we have shot with for years. Depending on the tier that means a shooter-director up to a full crew with Steadicam, production sound, and an editor and colorist. You are still welcome to bring your own crew and book the room on its own.
What do I get at the end of a production day?
Raw footage on every package, transferred to your drive or a cloud link within three business days of wrap. On the All-In tier you also get a finished, color-graded video: one edit day plus a color pass, up to four minutes of runtime and two revision rounds, delivered inside ten business days. You own the footage and the final master.
